Honor Your Body: Chair Yoga for Healing and Energy
I’m so excited to invite you to join Rooted in Radiance and the Brooklyn Public Library for this gentle, restorative Chair Yoga series. This is a space to pause, reconnect with your breath, and honor your body exactly as it is—right here, right now. Oh and by the way, you don’t have to be in Brooklyn to join!
I’m Radiance Basden—a Hall of Fame runner turned wellness coach, yoga and breathwork instructor, and the founder of Rooted in Radiance. My work is rooted in one belief: we all deserve spaces to slow down, honor the miracle of our existence, and care for ourselves with compassion and joy.
For years, I was the person “holding it all together” for everyone else—until I hit burnout. That’s when I discovered how powerful it is to pause, breathe, and give myself the same care I so easily gave others. Now, I guide spaces where we can reconnect with ourselves—learning to be gentle, loving caretakers of our own hearts and bodies.
Through mindful, seated movements, we’ll explore ways to build strength, balance, and ease—no matter your age, ability, or where you’re joining from. Each session begins and ends with grounding mindfulness practices, including breathwork to help release stress, reset your energy, and simply let yourself be.
Here’s what to expect:
Gentle Chair Yoga — movements you can do seated, accessible for all bodies and abilities
Breathwork & Mindfulness — tools to release stress and reset your energy
A Supportive Space — to move, breathe, and connect without judgment
When:
September 3, October 1, November 5, December 10
Online via Zoom (click here to register)
What to bring:
A sturdy chair (without wheels)
Comfortable clothes you can move in
Yourself—exactly as you are
I believe this work is about more than just movement—it’s about remembering your own strength, honoring your body in every season, and knowing you’re not alone. I look forward to meeting you and sharing this practice with you. Get excited!
Partnering with the Brooklyn Public Library allows me to bring this accessible practice to a wider community that deserves to feel good in their minds and bodies. Thank you for your support.
